I received my ThD in Pastoral Theology, Care and Counseling from Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta, GA, in 2008; ThM in Pastoral Counseling from Candler School of Theology, Emory University, in 1997; MDiv from Louisville Theological Seminary in 1996; and BA in English Language and Literature from Han Nam University, Korea, in 1992.
Prior to joining Martin Luther University College, I taught in the Christian Studies Department at Seoul Women’s University where I also supervised counselling practicum students in the graduate program from 2010. Before then, for two years, I held the position of assistant professor at Georgia Christian University. Over five years, I received counselling practicum training at the Care and Counseling Center of Georgia and became a licensed professional counsellor in that state.
I am an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and served Port Orange Presbyterian Church in Florida from 2002 to 2006. As a pastoral counselling supervisor in the Korean Association of Pastoral Counseling, I taught and supervised students-in-training and taught lay leaders who provided pastoral counselling in various congregations.
