Dr. Soo Kim Sweeney is a Hebrew Bible study specialist focusing on text-reader interactions in the Former and Latter Prophets. Hoping that our Bible reading can be the gateway to deep self-reflection and brave practice for the community, she urges students to read the biblical text in an earnest and honest mind. Her academic interests include biblical theology, literary-critical methodologies, intertextuality, spatiality, conceptual blending theories, and ethical readings with gender and racial issues. Accordingly, she teaches courses in Literature and the Bible in various contexts as well as biblical books.
She joined Central Seminary in 2017 and has taught various courses, including Hebrew Bible I, II, Biblical Exegesis and Hermeneutics, and Narratives in the Hebrew Bible.
