Kirsten Sonkyo Oh, an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, is the ecclesiastical faculty member for United Methodist students, providing pastoral care and supporting their ordination process. Dr. Oh also currently serves as associate professor of practical theology at Azusa Pacific University, teaching undergraduates in the areas of Christian ministry and youth ministry. She was previously associate dean of student life at Claremont School of Theology, and has served as adjunct faculty at that school as well as at San Francisco Theological Seminary and at Fuller.
Oh is one of three United Methodist representatives to the Faith and Order Table of the National Council of Churches, and she cochairs a study group on vital matters concerning current issues that affect ecclesial concerns through reflective theologies. In addition, she serves as a mentor to Women of Color Scholars through the General Board of Higher Education of the United Methodist Church.
