Joyce Young Ju Park is director of Spurgeon College-Korean Studies and assistant professor of Christian Education, Korean Studies. Dr. Park is an expert in South Korean Christian Education, leading various training sessions for Christian teachers. She serves as a board member for the Christian Worldview Studies Association of Korea and as an editorial board member for Faith and Life magazine.
Prior to coming to Midwestern, Dr. Park served as teacher and principal at Christian schools in South Korea for over a decade. As a lecturer and advisor, she is actively involved in the Korean Christian School movement in partnership with the Association of Christian Schools International. She also served as an assistant professor at the Asian Center for Theological Studies and Mission and is currently a guest professor at Torch Trinity Graduate University, which is affiliated with Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
Dr. Park earned a Bachelor of Education degree from Seoul National University of Education in Korea, a M.S. degree in Teacher Education from Cairn University (formerly Philadelphia Biblical University) and a Ph.D. in School Leadership from Columbia International University.
Dr. Park’s lifelong passion is to write children’s books with a biblical perspective. As a single woman, she enjoys playing with her nephews and niece, and talking about the Kingdom of God with young people.
