H. S. Wilson is Executive Director of Foundation forTheological Education in the Southeast Asia based in Philadelphia. Wilson is widely known in India for his contribution to theological education in India as Director (1980 through 1988) of Research and Church Relations at the Board of Theological Education of the Senate of Serampore College, Bangalore, thetheological arm of the Senate of Serampore College (University), the nation'sfirst University。
HS received his Master’s degree from Princeton and Doctorate from Drew University, USA. After his studies in 1977, he served at UTC, Bangalore and later became the Director of the Board of Theological Education of the Senate of Serampore College from 1980 to 1988, and in 1989, he became the founding director of South Asia Theological Research Institute (SATHRI) of the Serampore University. In 1989, he was invited by the World Alliance of Reformed Churches, Geneva to be its Executive Secretary of the Department of Theology. From 1998 to 2003, HS served as Associate Professor of World Mission and Director for the Centre for Global Theologies at the Wartburg Theological Seminary; and from 2003 to 2006 as Professor of Mission and Cultures and Director of Multicultural Mission Resource Centre of Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. He has written more than 100 articles, 4 books and edited 17 monographs.
